Arizona requires insurance; roughly one in nine drivers ignores that. Your own policy is built for this moment, and the shop can take most of the sting out of the deductible.
UM vs. UMPD vs. collision
UM covers your injuries. UMPD, where you have it, covers your car with a small deductible. Collision covers your car regardless of who hit you, with your collision deductible. Your agent can tell you in two minutes which applies; we document the damage the same way for all three.
Will my rates go up?
Arizona insurers generally can't surcharge you for a not-at-fault claim, and an uninsured-driver claim with a police report is as not-at-fault as it gets. Ask your agent to confirm.

Can I sue the uninsured driver?
You can, and your insurer may. Collecting is another matter. Fix the car under your policy first; don't wait on them.
