PDR from $150 · Free photo estimate
How much does it cost to fix a dent?
Anywhere from about $150 to $1,500, and that spread is why nobody can answer it over the phone. Here's what moves the number, and the two-minute way to get yours.
The three kinds of dent repair
Paintless dent repair (PDR) is for dents where the paint isn't broken: door dings, hail, a shopping cart. A tech massages the metal back from behind. Usually $150 to $450 per panel in the Valley, same day, no paint.
Conventional repair is for dents with creased metal or cracked paint. The panel gets worked, filled, primed and refinished, then blended into the panels next to it so the color matches. Usually $450 to $1,200 depending on size and location.
Replacement is for dents that stretched the metal past repair, or where a cheap panel is cheaper than the labor to fix it. A fender or door shell plus paint commonly runs $900 to $1,800.
What makes the same dent cost more
Body lines and edges: a dent across a crease takes far more work than one in the flat middle of a door. Aluminum panels (many trucks and newer SUVs) cost more to work than steel. Pearl and tri-coat paints take extra steps to match. And a dent next to a lamp or a sensor may mean removing and recalibrating things that have nothing to do with the dent.
Three prices instead of one
Every Best Deal estimate shows the same dent fixed three ways: Economy (repair over replace, economy refinish, no warranty), Best Deal (recycled OEM parts if any, Sherwin-Williams paint blended to match, 3-year warranty) and Insurance Quality (new OEM parts, factory procedures, lifetime warranty). Most people pick the middle one. The point is you see the trade-off instead of being told.
How the photo estimate works
- Your name, number and emailSo we know where to send it. Thirty seconds.
- Three photos of the damageWhole side of the car, close-up, and another angle. Your phone camera is fine.
- Snap your VINThe sticker in the driver's door. It tells us the exact year, model, trim and paint code so the estimate is for your car, not a guess.
A Best Deal estimator reviews every request personally. Your written estimate with three repair levels comes by email, usually the same business day.

Can you tell me a price if I describe it?
Not accurately, and we'd rather not guess. Three photos take less time than describing it and get you a real number.
Is PDR worth it for a small dent?
If the paint is intact, almost always. It's cheaper, faster, and keeps the factory paint.
Does my insurance cover a dent?
Collision or comprehensive coverage does, minus your deductible. For a $400 dent and a $1,000 deductible, pay out of pocket. For hail or a bigger hit, file, and ask about the deductible waiver.
Will a repaired dent show?
Done right, no. The paint is blended into the next panel so there's no edge to see.
